Shashi Mangalyam Education Society
Sashi Mangalyam School for children in need of special care was established in 1958 at Juhu, Mumbai by an educationist & psychologist, Dr. (Smt.) Sushilaben Shrinivasan.
Sashi Mangalyam has multifaceted activities at the school – it has included different types of disabilities, and hence, a need based approach to the educational needs of these children is followed. The school has the following sections:
- Sashi Mangalyam School for children in need of Special Care 1979
- Sashi Mangalyam Workshop for mentally challenged Girls above eighteen years and, (1985)
- Early Intervention Centre for Children under the age of five years.
- 94) Boy’s Workshop for trainable mentally challenged boys in the age group of 18 to 35 years of age.
Urvashi Foundation provided the school with a digital video recorder (DVR), hard disks, stationery, educational charts and sports material.
